Apostille of documents

Often translation of a document is not enough for its validity to be recognized in another country. This requires legalization or a simplified type thereof – apostille.

What is an apostille?

Apostille of documents is a stamp that confirms:

  • the authenticity of a signature, seal or stamp;
  • the capacity in which the person signing the document acted.
  • Apostille is valid only in the territory of states that are parties to the Hague Convention. Documents for other countries require legalization.

Apostille can be attached only to those documents that are issued in Russia and notarized. Notarization is necessary for both a translation, and a simple copy.
